Using
Grease additives organoclay
Based on our market experience, we recommend that you add polar activators during the use of organic bentonite when producing grease.
Polar activators include: anhydrous acetone, ethanol/water (95/5), methanol/water (95/5). High shear force is required to achieve ideal expansion during production.
The specific usage methods are as follows:
(1) In the open kettle, add 1/2 of the total base oil into the reactor and heat it to 60~70°C;
(2) While stirring, add organic bentonite (total formula 8-15%, the amount of synthetic oil used is higher than mineral oil) and stir for 5 to 10 minutes;
(3) Add polar activator (20~40%, organic soil content), then add other required additives, stir for 25~30 minutes
(4) Add the remaining 1/2 of the base oil into the reactor and stir for 1-2 hours;
(5) Use a colloid pump to pass it through a three-roller grinder or shear;
(6) Degassing, filtering and packaging lubricating oil.
For example, increasing the dispersion speed, extending the dispersion time and raising the temperature will improve the use effect of organobentonite.
